Does anyone know where I can find the drivers for a MP3 player that looks exactly like this:
http://www.buyaib.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=7694
I have been told they are generic MP3 players. The reason why I am asking is because when I plugged it into my PC, it says it could not find the drivers for this device and would not install it for me.
Now, I found this abit odd as I used it perfectly 2 months ago and now it says it cannot find the drivers for it.
Any help?

- #2i didnt think u needed drivers i don't mine just shows up as hdd in my computer
- #3They don't need drivers, unless you're running Windows 98 or earlier. It must be a problem with your machine.

I see. I'm asking because, everytime I put it into the machine now it says 'installing' then 'finding drivers'. After about 3 seconds, it comes up with a message saying 'error installing your USB device' and thats it.
I know I don't need drivers as it was working fine 2 months ago, but now its not seeing the device anymore.
I am running windows 2000 so am finding it abit weird. - #50

Try using exactly the same USB socket. Many USB drives come up with the 'USB device not recognised' balloon in XP, maybe this is the Win 2k 'ungraceful' rejection of the device.
Failing that, I hate to agree with Telly_Man, but it might be broken. Only other things to try are a powered USB hub or try it on another machine to see if it detects properly. They don't last forever, I've killed 2 in 18 months. - #7These mp3 normally come up as a removable drive in my computer.

Yeah, I have one - branded iiTronics - removeable drive is what it shows up under XP as. (*NOT* loading Win2k just to see) - #9Try using exactly the same USB socket. Ah I see. Thanks for that.
I think this may be Windows 2000 saying 'Goodbye' to the device, as I tried it on the exact same USB port, and it still comes up with the message (screenshot below - Copy and paste)
